YES...an update, ENJOY

It's amazing how many fans of the BIGblind are out there, every day I get bombarded with fans who crave for an update. What these fans need to understand is, the BIGblind is busy, he has two J-O-B's, along with a "the wife", and the many house/club games to play in. He's also lazy, which doesn't help much.

But anyway, before I begin I want to take a moment and send along my condolences to the Guerrero Family, Eddie Guerrero was an amazing performer. Some of my fondest wrestling memories were watching Eddie, whether making me laugh with a "Cheat, Lie, and Steal" promo or watching him win the title from Brock Lesner to the unforgettable embrace with Chris Benoit at WresleMania XX. Eddie was remarkable, and I am deeply saddened by his death and will selfishly miss him.

On to other things, THE Main Event just ended on that sports channel, mind you the event actually ended earlier in the year but has just finished airing on ESPN. Congratulations to Joseph Hachem for outlasting and outplaying 5,618 other players to be win the 7.5 million dollar first place prize. Even more amazing, to me, was who placed 2nd, Steve Dannenmann. This was an amateur player, had never played in the Main Event before and claims that he is the 4th or 5th best player at his home game. With a field of over 5,000 entrants, roughly 250 of them professionals, the Main Event has become a skilled lottery. I'm still waiting for "the Boss" to offer to pay my 10K entry fee with the understanding that I would wear Baseball America apparel the entire tournament. I'm sure ESPN would show the BIGblind on TV, for I am the sexiest sumbitch I know...they don't call the BIGblind, Luscious for nothing.

Okay, so it's not much and the BIGblind understands this post will not begin to quench the thirst of the BIGblind's fans, but please be patient as there is always tomorrow...tommorow...

The BIGblind would like to take a quick moment and thank "the BOSS" for allowing the BIGblind to update his blog today............sucker.

the BIGblind is back with a brand new edition

Will it ever stop, yo...I don't know...turn out the lights and I'll glow...to the Extreme I rock mike like a...Sorry bout dat.

Now on to bigger and/or better things. It's been awhile and believe you me, I have taken some crap for it. The BIGblind fans just can't get enough and when they are deprived it's like a crack-head without....well...crack. Since the last post I have began playing in weekly poker tournaments, one week will be a 10.00 buy in tournament usually paying out to the top three places and the following week will be a cash game with the buyin the same where you can cash out at any time you so choose. The first week was a tournament, I was nervous as all hell and my hands showed it while trying to put my chips in the middle. I felt like an amateur and slightly hated myself for being so wussily nervous, but I was, so BACK OFF. The night ended well for me, I placed third in the tournament which payed out 53.00, and more than that, I felt that my skills were validated. I felt I was a better poker player than my actual "wins"and monetary gains showed. In summary, I may have only taken third but it felt like a WSOP win to me.

Now on to the cash game, I had definite reservations about playing in the cash game, first off I always disliked the idea of participants being able to leave the table at any moment. The idea that comes to mind is a player who makes a ridiculous call and picks up their one out on 5th and doubles/triples/quadruples/quintuples/sixtuples/etc. their stack......then leaves.....with your money. The game itself is quite different from a tournament as well, no increasing blinds, so people will call almost any pocket hoping to catch on the flop. This leads to great pockets losing to otherwise folded pockets. But anyway, I played the cash game and after about a half hour I really began to enjoy myself, I was comforting knowing that I could a make a score and not have to watch it dwindle away to cold cards. I ended the night taking home 35.75, with a two week buy-in total of 20.00 I was now net 68.75. Let me take this time to thank all of those people that played those two weeks, you all helped me purchase Advance Wars: Duel Strike for the Nintendo DS. Thank you all.

Now on to this past week's tournament, the theme for the night for me was cold cards and bad beats. Actually only two bad beats but they were more than enough. First was the monster pocket of the night....A-A. I went all in with these little guys and got one call with big slick. The flop came up X - K - K, at this point my balls felt like they were smashed with a hammer, I had one out in the deck, the lonely A left all alone in the deck. At this point the dealer began to shuffle the cards...yes....shuffle the cards without laying down 4th or 5th. After much deliberation with the caller we nulled the hand and played again. I don't remember the caller's name but he was a great guy and I hope to play with him again in the future. With extremely tight play I made it to the final table, though with the lowest chip count, after a few hands, I scored with big slick and went all in. No callers. Next hand, A-10 suited, all in, one caller, doubled up. At this point I was at 12K in chips, blinds at 500/1000, the next hand comes and once again...big slick. So for the third hand in a row, ALL IN. It was an 11K bet, after much deliberation I had one caller. I figured the guy had a high pocket pair and I was going to be chasing, to my surprise the caller flips over K- J unsuited. I still to this moment cannot understand an 11K call with K - J unsuited, but it isn't for me to understand. The flop comes.............................................................................10 - J - J, I couldn't believe it. The first thought that crossed my mind is He's lucky Hellmuth isn't here. 4th and 5th came down 10 -10, so the board had the full house but he had the J for J's over 10's. I was dejected, agitated, pissed off, sad, hungry. So many emotions in such a short time.

I've been blabbing or bloggin' for a while now so I'm out.

BIGblindia: polulation 3 + 1

Well BIGblind fans, Biggies back with a brand new edition, flowing like a hawk...sorry flashbacks of my breakdancing days. So I was telling BIGblind wife last night about my latest post and she asked who the three fans of the BIGblind were so I told her, and upon finishing the enormous fan list she noticed her name wasn't mentioned. This began the 10 minute tirade of how insensitive and unthoughtful the BIGblind is, feeling badly about the aforementioned problem I then promised the wife that I would make up for it during my next post. So to make up for it I have officially changed the population of BIGblindia from 3 to 4. Thanks alot the wife, our countries tax brackets will now be scewed and there goes our entire economy which was built upon population 3. But whats a dictator to do, all great men have even more wonderful women behind them or in my case in front of holding the lease. (I'm a good boy, or so I'm told on occasion). Either way, I love the wife, henceforth known as the Alison. You gotta love a the wife who loves poker too, now for the other three inhabitants of BIGblindia get your minds out of the gutter with the whole poker thing. So lets get down to our poker wisdom of the day and/or lesson...so a here we go.

LESSON #4328093: If your staring at two A's on the table and one of your opponents squeals with delight when a third falls.....and their poker nickname is "the FISH"....it's a good chance they have four A's. Politely fold the hand and then go have a cigarrette and a beer (preferably Miller High Life, the Champagne of Beers)

TO ALL the bigBLIND fans out there

To all of the bigBLIND Blog fans out there (all 3 of you), I wish to express my apologies for not posting a new......post, in a many a moon. To my plethora of fans I hope that you can once again gain my bloggin' trust and not remove me from the top of your favorites list. Now on to bigger and blogger things, people bitch way to much, myself included. Even the BIGblind is prone to bitchin' on occasion but there are those, a special breed of people who find happiness in "the bitch". Those whose sole purpose is to bitch as often as humanly possible throughout the course of the day, for example lets say someone who complains about someone's blog not being updated frequently enough. Just an example and the BIGblind shall never name names, lets just call this person Senior TILT and leave it at that. So in concludesion, sorry bout dat. Texas Hold Them still rules, IT RULES.

Texas Hold Them Rule of Thumb for the day:

When you have the 2/7 off-suit, toss the hand and enjoy a cigarette and a cold "the one"

Till next time blog fans join us (me) next time, same blog time, same blog site.

NO, NO NOT IN THE R'S

So after reading the comments of KEEFIE RAY, I just had to post. This must be some sort of record or sumpin. Anywho, we (and by we I mean me) will now share our thoughts on something near and dear to my heart, POKER. For those of your dirty minded sumunas out there, I mean the card game not the OTHER thing. (please insert poker in the front liquor in the rear joke HERE) To get back on track, poker is the sport of kings, yes sport and yes KINGS. I sit here watching The World Poker Tour on my DVR and I have to suffer through a Chris Moneymaker commercial for PokerStars.net, to make a long story short MONEYMAKER IS A DEUTSCHE. Just my opinion and I could be wrong....but I'm not. The reasons why I believe he is the aforementioned slander will be saved for a future post, but for now, back to the original subject matter. I LOVE POKER, specifically TEXAS HOLD THEM (or Hold'em if you so prefer), to quote the number one movie of all time, Rounders, "Texas Hold'em is the Cadillac of poker. It's like playing chess for money, playing the game becomes secondary to playing your opponents. Reading tells, strategically determining how much/little to bet to achieve your desired result...I need to stop I'm getting a chubby. Well folks I'm out for now, but before I go let me give a shout out to the CREW
